What is this?
Mental health has many layers. It is more than just a state of well-being. Our bodies and minds are not separate. It is more than just an absence of a "diagnosis". To truly understand mental health and to be an effective, therapeutic, kind mental health professional, you need to dissect all its layers. Analyze each puzzle piece on its own.
Here at Anatomy of Psych, we have created a psychiatry reference manual for students, nurses, residents, therapists, and any other mental health professional. It is also an educational resource for anyone that is interested in learning about mental health.
Why?
This website is made and run by Canadian nurses working in psychiatry. Although the content is Canadian-based, it aims to be useful regardless of where you practice. The goal is to create a user-friendly, easy access to the many different layers of psychiatric care such as: diagnostic criteria, pharmacology, treatment options, legalities, nursing interventions, tips and tricks, and more!
Please join us on an insider's look and our ongoing learning journey as we reveal to you the Anatomy of Psychiatry!
